OUR PLATFORM

THE WOODFIN WAY

A Promise to Birmingham...

Throughout our history, Birmingham has overcome challenges with striking resiliency. By turning metal into medicine, Birmingham has reinvented its economy, transforming from an industrial powerhouse into a thriving hub for healthcare and innovation. From a global pandemic to moments of reckoning on racial and economic justice, we’ve met every challenge with action.

I’m proud of the work my administration has done to build a better Birmingham. But our work isn’t finished.

My campaign has always been about a simple idea: a belief in the potential of our city, and all of its people. We are strongest when we’re united around building a fairer, more inclusive Birmingham for everyone who calls it home.

Our platform is a promise to Birmingham residents – a commitment to take on our toughest challenges and put people first in all 99 neighborhoods.

Whether it’s as basic as making it easier to renew your business license or as challenging as ensuring each Birmingham City Schools graduate can attend college debt-free, I believe in common-sense, pragmatic policies that improve residents’ quality of life. Eight years ago, I promised we would put people first. And every day since, that’s what we’ve done.

A Safer City For All

Whether in our schools or our streets, our approach to public safety should be built around equal opportunity for all. Connecting Talent to Opportunity

Built by steelworkers, nurses, teachers, and tradespeople, our city’s progress has always depended on the labor of hardworking Alabamanians. Mayor Woodfin knows that when we take care of our workers, Birmingham moves forward.

Having attended Birmingham City Schools throughout his childhood, Mayor Woodfin knows high-quality education leads to economic opportunity. Birmingham’s young families deserve a school system that is responsive to their needs and enables every student to succeed.
